Whomever did this particular mask did amazing work. My curiousity has me looking at these masks, but I don't know if I would like to have a replica of a loved one after their death. I guess its OK if the person was famous because that is how i stumbled upon this website. It is really facinating to look at all of the masks, even the unknown ones.

It is amazing that the facial hair came out as perfectly as it did. It seems as if it would have gotten caught in the mask medium.

I love death masks.
You can get a much better idea for sure. Most of the time portraits aren't very accurate at all, so having death masks does much more justice.
