Supporting the Archive
The future of The Thanatos Archive and Thanatos.net depends
heavily on the generosity and support of its members and on the
assistance of volunteers. Donations of all types aid
tremendously in the preservation, cataloging, and safe,
permanent storage of the many images in the archive, as well as
in maintaining the Archive's online presence here at
Thanatos.net.
There are several ways to show your
support:

2. Donate Images
Donation of Original
Vintage Photos *
Donations of vintage postmortem photographs help
ensure that the Archive can continue to carry out its mission - the
conservation, preservation and exhibition of these important pieces of photographic
and mourning history.
Donating your photos to the Archive will also ensure that your photos
will be safely and professionally catalogued and protected in our
archives. Your gift can help the Archive strengthen and broaden its
collection, which will continue to be made available to the public
through broader venues as the collection expands and acquires additional
resources and support.
Photographs we are looking
for at this time:
Ideally, original, pre-1940 postmortem, funerary, and mourning
images, all countries of origin.
Selected donated images may be scanned and added to the digital
archive, while the others will be safely stored and preserved onsite in
our archives.
* Donations of vintage images receive a free 1 year
membership to the digital archive. Please note that images donated to
the archive are never sold or auctioned. Donated images are kept in the
archives permanently.
Donation of Digital Images
Anyone can donate a digital image to the
archive, provided that the original from which
the image is scanned from is owned by the submitter, or permission
for you to do so is granted by the owner of the original image. To

3. Cash Donation *
* Donations of $25.00+
receive a 1 year membership to our digital archive.
Donations of $35.00+ receive a 2 year membership to our digital archive.
