Help Us Preserve History The future of The Thanatos Archive and our online presence at Thanatos.net relies heavily on donations, the support of our friends and members, and on the assistance of volunteers. Membership fees and donations of all types aid tremendously in the preservation, cataloging, and safe, professional storage of the many antique images in the archive, as well as in maintaining our online presence here at Thanatos.net. 100% of your membership fees and/or donations go into the Archive Fund, which is used exclusively for online hosting expenses, professional preservation materials, and storage supplies. Donate Images * 2a) Donation of Original Vintage Photos Donations of vintage post-mortem photographs help ensure that the Archive can continue to carry out its mission - the conservation, preservation and exhibition of these important pieces of photographic and mourning history. Donating your photos to the Archive will also ensure that your photos will be safely and professionally catalogued and protected. Your gift can help the Archive strengthen and broaden its collection and enable us to continue sharing these photos online and through other venues. * In return for your donation of quality image(s), we offer a two-year membership to our digital archive and forum, a $40 value. Please note that photos donated to the archive are never sold or given away, but number coded and kept in the archives for safe-keeping. Photographs we are looking for at this time: Ideally, original, pre-1950 post-mortem, funerary, and mourning images, all countries of origin, though we will make room for any and all photos you wish to donate. As space allows, selected donated images may be scanned and added to the digital archive, while the others will be safely stored and preserved onsite in our archives. 2b) Donation of Digital Images Anyone can donate a digital scan to the archive, provided that the original from which the image is scanned from is owned by the submitter, or permission for you to do so is granted by the owner of the original image. Shop at our Photo Store Our photography store offers a wide selection of antique photography, from cartes de visite to ambrotypes and daguerreotypes and more. All proceeds are used to support the Archive. In addition, Archive members receive a 10% discount on every order, with no discount limit. To visit our photo store, please click here. 4.
