FAQ and Common Issues

You cannot log into the site.
1. Make sure you are a subscribing member and that your account has not expired. If you are not yet an Archive member, you can join by clicking here.

After purchasing your membership, you will not be able to log into the site immediately. All new accounts need to be manually created. Upon activation, you will be sent a membership e-mail containing important information. At this time your account is officially active and you may log in. For more info, see the next section about membership email.

2. Make sure you are entering your username and password exactly how they are shown in your membership e-mail. The characters are case-sensitive.

3. Check to see if your internet browser security settings allow you to receive cookies. Cookies are small files that are stored on your computer that help this site identify you. If your security settings are too high, or cookies are disabled, your password cannot be stored on your computer and the system cannot recognize you.


You did not receive your membership email.
During business hours (8AM - 6PM PST), membership emails usually arrive in your inbox within 1-2 hours of cleared payment. If your membership is purchased after business hours, it can take up to 12 hours to receive your membership email.

If you have not received your membership e-mail within 12 hours, please check your Junk Mail folder. If it has been more than 12 hours since your payment and you have checked your Junk Mail folder, please contact us!


Can I share my account with family and friends?
No. Your membership is valid for a single user. The system identifies you by your IP address and cookies. If multiple IP addresses are detected using the same log-in, the Archive software will boot one or both users and your membership may be discontinued with no refund.


Can I change my member name, e-mail, and password?
Yes. Your member name can be changed by sending a request to the site administrator.

Your password and email can both be changed at any time, by you, in your Control Panel, which can be accessed on the left side of the screen after logging into your account.


Why must I supply a valid email?
A working, valid email address is important for several reasons. Without a working email address, you will not be able to receive your membership activation / welcome email, or use several important features of this site, including lost password retrieval. We will also be unable to send you notice of impending account expiration.

If you are unable to be reached, your account may be considered invalid and will eventually be deleted.


Does the Archive share or sell my email address?
Absolutely not. We will never share the email of anybody who registers on this site. Your email will only be used for functions such as your membership welcome email, lost password retrieval, and an average of three site-related promotional emails or newsletters per year, sent by the site administrator. These newsletters have an "unsubscribe" option.


Can I use these images on my site, blog, Facebook, YouTube, etc?
Sorry, but no. The photos on this site are meant to be exclusive to Thanatos.net, and for our members only. Allowing these images to be posted all over the internet would not be fair to our members who have paid for a membership. Please see our About Us page for info on photo thieves.

Our photos are available for commercial and educational use. Please send all inquiries to the curator.
